Paul Rook

Freelance Editor, Camera Operator and Producer

Paul is a long time collaborator showing great work ethic, determination and skill in video production, especially astute when editing and shooting for broadcast, corporate or music based content.

“Paul has spent many years working in the sports media sector primarily as a Video Editor, however he has plenty of experience as a Camera Operator. Former clients include Liverpool Football Club, Arsenal Football Club and Sky Sports News, where he spent 2 years as a Sub Editor. Currently based in Manchester, Paul has recently been freelancing with Premier League Champions Manchester City as the Producer for the club’s Kids App.

In addition to shooting travel videos, he has experience producing music videos, even helping out as a Camera Assistant on a BBC course for aspiring directors. Throw in his experience with corporate clients and you have a well-rounded Videographer ready to take on any challenge.”

Callum Jackson

Promo Editor and Motion Graphic Designer

Callum is a creative promo director/editor and trailer editor. His latest client was BBC Creative in Salford. There his skills were put to use creating short form promos for broadcast: script writing, directing voice over and creation of motion for CBBC, Cbeebies, BBC Sport and BBC Learning.

"I have a deep passion for moving media and have dedicated the last 4 years honing my skills and creating content. I have managed to work with some extremely talented and passionate directors and editors all of whom have an eye for creativity.

These include my most recent client BBC Creative Salford, whilst here I worked with an incredible team of extremely talented creatives such as creative director Tim Jones and James Cross along with industry veteran creative promo director Westley Wood.

I had the pleasure of working on short form promos for a handful of BBC programs and major campaigns such as Children in Need and CBBC Find Your Tribe.

I got my start at The Imaginati, a small video games studio working closely with 20th Century Fox and The Imaginirium on Triple A title; Planet of The Apes: The Last Frontier.

Whilst there I worked closely with experienced cinematic/motion capture director and video game veteran Steve Kniebihly (Ubisoft, Quantic Dream, CD Projekt Red, Capcom). Under his guidance I learned cinematic framing, depth of field and directing motion capture talent.

The Trailer Farm in Brighton followed soon after where I worked with video game veterans and brothers Tony and Dan Porter as a freelance Unreal Engine 4 Scene Director for the recently released "Two Point Hospital".

Richard Dougall

Artist and Designer of Graphics, Sound and Video

Richard is well known for his creativity and variety of skills. A dab hand when it comes to logos and typography (he takes credit for the Keen Eye Media branding) and well versed in soundscapes, music production, live music, emceeing and producing music videos. Richard brings an impressive range of influences from music, art and film to the table. Always brimming with ideas.

“Richard Dougall is an artist/designer who has been creating content across multiple platforms for the past decade. This multidisciplinary output ranges from graphic design, video direction and editing, sound design, identity and branding, art direction and typography. 

As one half of design agency Anon Coll and under the alias Burma Wave he has worked over a variety of mediums to create content in print, video and audio for clients across Britain and North America. Whether it’s self-initiated, collaborative or client-based work, his focus is firstly upon the art and power of communication.

This practice of multifaceted creative output means Richard is experienced in a wide range of software, including InDesign, Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator (for Graphic Design); ProTools, Cubase and various hardware (for Sound Design); and Premiere Pro (for Video Design).”

Patrick Shead-Simmonds

Director and Lighting Cameraman

Patrick is a talented narrative director and skilled lighting camera operator who’s work never fails to impress. He is precise, methodical and a safe pare of hands with bundles of creative problem solving ability.

“Patrick is a director and lighting cameraman whose work spans a wide variety of productions both in studio environments as well as on location. In addition to leading corporate and commercial projects for large and small companies, Patrick has also shot narrative and factual content with a consistently high production value.”

Oliver McGuirk

Video Editor - Filmmaker

Experienced freelance Video Editor based in London, with a diverse post-production background that spans over 8 years across a range of creative platforms. I've had successful collaborations with both agencies and international clients, including leading names such as Buzzfeed, Sky, NatWest, Tasty, Secret Cinema, News UK, The Financial Times, Fender, to highlight just a few.

My editing work has spanned across social media, broadcast, marketing, documentary, corporate productions, and journalism content. 

 I edit predominantly using (Adobe) Premiere Pro, allowing me to smoothly create and integrate text elements, audio, and motion graphics. Whether engaged remotely or from your HQ, I’m comfortable taking the lead with a video and working alongside other creatives.

Tom Mayer

Camera Operator

A confident and reliable individual with a multitude of experience across sport, drama, entertainment and corporate. A creative and technically minded operator with knowledge and understanding of filming and editing.

Aaron Sampson

Self-Shooting Director, Camera Operator & Video Editor

Aaron Sampson is a freelance self-shooting director based in the Cotswolds. He has been producing and editing videos since 2006 and has worked with directors such as Michael Bay, Danny Boyle and Simon Curtis.

Directing since 2014, his work is predominantly music video based with the exception of live events. He has directed music videos for London based bands and artists such as BBC Radio One’s House Band The Tailormade, FLETT, Seattle based Tom Butler, and Bristol based Duncan Stagg.

Aaron has been operating cameras with various lighting set-ups since 2006. From live television studios, casting suites, outside broadcasts and of course, shooting his own work. Aaron has familiarised himself with the workings of a range of cameras and lighting equipment and is confident in producing the best results in any situation.

He has been editing video for over a decade, using industry standard software from Final Cut to Avid Media Composer, though his preferred software of choice is Adobe Premier Pro. He has developed his post production abilities to a level that accompanies his skill set to make him a proficient self-shooter.

Luca Verducci

Natural History Camera Operator, Director and Assistant Producer

Luca is an experience wildlife cameraman with bases in Rome and Bristol. He has experience shooting across the world incuding Africa, Borneo and across Europe.

He has a passion for conservation, wildlife and documentary. His clients include: National Geographic, WWF Italy and many natural history production companies.

Luca has the passion and patience to wait days for those golden moments of animal behaviour and a friendly, down to earth nature making him fun to be around on the most arduous of shoots.

“I am a wildlife filmmaker with five years of experience within the documentary industry. I have produced and directed several hours of natural history and actuality sequences in diverse filming locations. 

I am proud of myself behind the camera, looking for a creative interpretation of nature and I am confident in delivering behavioral sequences.

During previous projects on sensitive subjects such as poaching in the Mediterannean and Borneo I collaborated with researchers and NGOs to gain access to sensitive subjects.

Thanks to this background I gained relevant human and communication skills and I am fluent in English and Spanish. 

I am a friendly team member who loves to keep a positive attitude both on location and in the office.”

Jim Smith

Camera Operator and Editor

Jim is known for making run and gun work look cinematic. Whether shooting from the shoulder or on a slider/dolly in a studio, his lighting and camera work always look highly slick and stylised. His editing style always exceeds expectations and his reels are things of beauty. A real up and coming lighting cameraman and documentary filmmaker based in Bristol. Several of his documentaries are currently being developed for TV and often shoots current affairs for the BBC. Definitely one to watch.

“I’m an experienced lighting cameraman and editor with an interest in documentary film. I work across most mediums, from broadcast factual TV to branded content and corporate. I also produce and edit short documentaries which have won awards, screened at international festivals and have been commissioned by UK national broadcasters. I’m confident in both run-and-gun and studio environments where I pride myself on telling visual stories effectively.”
